Highway 2 Watercraft Inspection Program

Starting on April 10, 2015, Flathead Basin Commission is partnering with the Blackfeet Nation to operate a watercraft inspection program.

What this means for water users launching on Blackfeet waters:


  • Per Blackfeet Ordinance 113, all boaters must obtain a Certificate of Inspection prior to launching. 
  • Certificates of Inspection are valid for 7 days. After 7 days a new certificate must be issued. 
  • Certificates are available at the Highway 2 inspection station 3 miles east of East Glacier and, starting June 15, at Chewing Blackbones Campground, near Babb.
     


You should see the following signs at every Blackfeet boat launch. If the sign is missing, please call the number on the sign and let the inspectors know:
